Keli Lee, EVP Talent and Casting at Disney ABC, is relocating to London to take up a newly created role as managing director of international content and talent.

She will report to ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee (British), and work closely with Samie Falvey, VP comedy and international scripted development, and Patrick Moran, VP of ABC Studios, to scout for talents and program formats from overseas.

In her 20 year-long career within the Disney ABC Television Group, Keli has been a driving force of numerous initiatives that allowed minority talents, including Korean, to get increased on-screen presence.

Besides providing three of Hollywood’s most famous Korean American actors, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) and Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy) with a breakout starts to their careers, as well as further opportunities (Mistresses for Yunjin Kim), she has also untapped some new KoreAm talents via ABC Discover and the Latino and Asian Global Outreach Initiative, which aims at identifying and developing international talent. One of those is Randall Park, who stars in Fresh Off the Boat.

Keli came to the Edinburgh TV Festival last year, at which she took part in a panel on Thursday August 21, titled ‘Minority Report: Is TV Racist?

We wish her to settle down well in our capital, and look forward to hear more about the new opportunities she will be opening for international talents through her new role.
