We have noticed and taken note that a number of our London Korean Drama Club (LKDC) members originate from Malaysia.

As such, as to further opportunities for you and fans of other origins, we have established a partnership with Kmania – aka Malaysian Critics Circle and Fans Society Club -, a newly formed Malaysia-based club focusing on Kpop and Kdrama, who like us have organized various related events.

More details about them can be found on their website but they can also be reached through social media, including Facebook, Twitter  and Instagram.

The partnership will comprise several dimensions:

  • Like our Daehan Drama Awards, Kmania host their own annual event to celebrate and award the best television series out from South Korea, named “CARI Kdrama Awards” and held since 2011, when they first polled fans. The LKDC will be able to gain access to the results of the votes to share with our members, helping identify the popular Korean dramas before they reach the European shores;
  • In the event of Korean drama-related gatherings in Malaysia, Kmania will provide details, tickets as well as travel guidance for LKDC members interested in taking part. It is indeed quite common for Kdrama stars to visit Kuala Lumpur for the launch of their latest dramas – for instance, lately Park Bo-gum’s fanmeeting -, or albums (in the case where they are also Kpop artists). For UK-based events, the LKDC members will be given the choice to support their Malaysian counterparts with their travel. We hope to see enthusiastic involvement on both parts, and Kmania members are happy to assist with hospitality (coach-surfing) and introducing to cultural activities in Malaysia (local food meals, simple excursions);
  • Last but not least, the LKDC will be able to source articles from Kmania for its website daehandrama.com as well as see its original writing published on their website, as long as they are relevant to respective audiences and authors are credited.

Kmania will also support us in promotion for our Korean webdrama distribution activity, starting with Hot and Sweet (aka Sweet and Spicy) which we released on Amazon Video in the UK and Germany, but which is also available on Iflix, Viu and WeiPix in Malaysia.
