DramaFever to host additional screenings for the New York Korean Film Festival
Subway Cinema, the hosts of the New York Asian Film Festival, will soon welcome another event, this time dedicated to Korean cinema. Co-organized with The Korea Society, the New York Korean Film Festival will show both critically acclaimed films as well as box office hits from November 20 to 23. They especially managed to get Roaring Currents and The Pirates, which are not showing at our London Korean Film Festival.
But, most interestingly, is the partnership between the festival’s organizers and DramaFever. Indeed, for the first time, the online platform will stream exclusively and for a limited period of time, a few additional films: Lee Jae-kyoo’s 18th-century costume drama The Fatal Encounter and Lee Myung-se’s visually ravishing M. More to be announced closer to the date.
This time our own London Korean Film Festival only partnered with Mubi to stream the K-classic, The Housemaid (1960). We hope that next year more options will be offered online, especially for fans who cannot necessarily come to London for all screenings (if any).
